I’m using mozilla firefox then suddenly the windows internet explorer will pop up with an annoying advertisement, how can i remove this, is my PC infected?

Everytime I click a link in Internet Explorer, a new window pops up. It’s always blank and vanishes almost instantly. I’m trying to figure out what it’s trying to load, but so far the best I have gotten is that the IP address may start with 83 and sometimes the titlebar has a 404 error right before closing. Any idea how to get rid of this? I have tried Microsoft Update, Symantic AntiVirus, Spybot and Ad-Aware, all with the latest updates. I’m running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004 and Internet Explorer 6.

Ik ken geen andere manier voor het verwijderen van het url-adres in internet explorer, ik heb geprobeerd het automatisch aanvullen, en er gebeurt niets, behalve als ik het vinkje de webadressen, maar ik wil de opgeslagen websites verdwenen zijn, zal het helpen als ik het opnieuw installeren van Internet Explorer?
